Currently we have a Lead E&I Engineer position based in Angola for FPSO fleet, with one of our well-known client.

This is an onshore role providing support to the fleet in Angola and Technical Input to new projects.

Long term employment, annual salary, additional benefits. Either 9/3 (weeks) rotations or resident status. Details of contract, T&Cs available at our office

Position shore based in Angola

On a Day to Day basis you will:

Report on deficiencies and posit remedial action. Priorities include maintaining critical safety systems and optimizing reliability and maintenance intervention costs.
Support Electrical Supervisors with Technical and Maintenance guidance.
Support Instrument Supervisors with Technical and Maintenance guidance.
Support & advise ICSS Specialists including coordinating third party specialists.
Ensure Fiscal Metering maintenance, calibration and certification integrity;
Support Procurement with technical specifications and standards advice.
Support Project and Shutdown Teams from design to post installation.
Trouble shoot and diagnose offshore electrical, instrumentation technical issues.
Compile preservation, energisation and commissioning data,
Compile registers (Ex) of electrical equipment, reviewing technician performance, training and Ex competency.
Participate in and verify commissioning activities related to electrical equipment (loop checks, etc)
Perform Audits of offshore installations and regular site visits, supervision & support of onshore electrical engineers and technical participation in upgrade projects/shutdowns.
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) for major electrical equipment (switchgear, control panels, motors, alternators)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Educated to HNC/HND/BSc or equivalent standard in Electrical Engineering
Experience of HV/LV electrical system design, maintenance & operation
Practical knowledge of Permit To Work (PTW), Electrical Isolation Standards, Risk Assessment (RA), Power Management System, Power Generation on HV / LV.
Experience of instrument selection, installation, calibration and diagnosis.
Knowledge of electrical equipment in hazardous areas and IEC 60079 standards.
Familiarity with office desktop packages and software-based maintenance systems
Effective communication, report writing, organizational & analytical skills.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, effective team member and communicate effectively with offshore and onshore staff at all levels
Ability to supervise, support and mentor engineers within the onshore team.
Ability to travel internationally, including offshore facilities.
Oil and Gas industry experience preferable.

General Responsibilities

In accordance with quality and safety management requirements, the Superintendent will monitor the SOLAS and MARPOL requirements and ensure that adequate resources and shore-based support are applied. Masters of such vessels will be directly responsible to the Superintendent.
To be aware of their responsibilities under section 4d of the company’s ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety system.
To be aware of their responsibilities under section 5.3.7 of the company’s ISO 22301:2019 Business Continuity Management System.
To act as the on-call Marine Emergency Coordinator (MEC) on a rota basis as agreed with the Contract Manager. When on call, the responsibilities detailed in QMS 1.40 (Marine Emergency Coordinator) will also apply.


Qualifications and Experience
Qualified to at least STCW III/2 second engineer and / or have a Degree in a Marine Engineering related discipline.
Developed Engineering professional with an understanding and experience of engineering and technical processes in the Marine Industry. Extensive experience as a sea-going Engineer – ideally 6 years marine experience.
Ideally minimum 1 years relevant shore based technical experience to include, technical management, knowledge of port and vessel operations, maintenance, Flag and Class requirements/regulations, Budgetary management experience.
Familiarity and positive attitude to the use and importance of Technical Management systems Project and programme management expertise. Experience of successful people management and team development. Some commercial acumen.
Detailed knowledge and experience of requirements covered by ISM, knowledge of standards ISO 9001 and 14000
Preferable attributes.
Experience of operating successfully within both Government and Commercial environments.
Ability to use Microsoft Office and AMOS software to a good standard, strong customer focus, organisational skills, time management, confidentiality and able to work on own initiative.
Membership of Professional bodies. Some employee relations / Trade Union experience

General Responsibilities
As part of the NTS Contract team, to provide HSEQ advice and guidance to the Contract Manager delivering the contract with their responsibility for the health & safety of their staff. The review of risk and safe systems of work relating to the contract, and providing appropriate management to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of afloat and shore-based staff. Acts as depute CSO/DPA. To support the NTS contract legal and general obligations with regard to health and safety. The contract is a complex mix of ISO standards and merchant shipping regulations which requires specialist maritime HSEQ knowledge in order to link the legislative systems ensuring safe systems of work for sea and shore staff, effective risk analysis and thorough incident investigation and subsequent reporting.
To provide support to the Marine Superintendent in way of HSEQ input to vessel operating procedures, vessel safety case reports, and hazard logs. Technical and Operations Managers for functionality associated with the Company’s IMS in particular ISO and Company Health and Safety Environmental policy requirements.
To drive the company requirement for all ships to achieve TMSA standard and continuous improvement program. To act as the on-call Marine Emergency Coordinator (MEC) on a rota basis as agreed with the Contract Manager. When on call, the responsibilities detailed in QMS 1.40 (Marine Emergency Coordinator) will also apply.
